Is this you?
Most sighthound owners come to Don after years of frustration. If any of these ring true, you’re in the right place.
- You can’t let your dog off the lead anywhere — not even quiet woods, not even early mornings.
- Other boarders don’t understand sighthounds. They put your dog with terriers and tell you it’ll be fine.
- You’ve tried recall training before and it hasn’t stuck. The moment your dog catches a scent, they’re gone.
- Your dog has a high prey drive that genuinely worries you — squirrels, foxes, neighbouring cats.
- You’ve been told by trainers and rescue staff that “sighthounds can never be walked off lead”.
- You feel guilty because your dog only ever runs flat-out on a lead, and you know they were built to run free.
Meet Don
I’m Don Jordan, “The Sighthound Guy”, founder of K9 Exclusive Walks and a dedicated specialist in greyhound, whippet and lurcher care.
As a proud owner of two rescue lurchers and a Staffy, my work is driven by a deep understanding of sighthound psychology and the specific physiological needs of these breeds. I saw a real gap in London for expert services that genuinely understood the unique drive and sensitive nature of sighthounds.
I’m licensed to board eight dogs at any one time — and only sighthounds. No terriers, no spaniels, no Labradors. Just greyhounds, whippets, lurchers, salukis, Italian greyhounds, deerhounds and their crosses, all together as one calm pack.
Whether it’s navigating the expansive terrain of Hampstead Heath or providing a calm, secure home-boarding environment with a 350ft secure private garden, my mission is to ensure every sighthound in my care thrives — physically and mentally.

From first call to free-running
Four straightforward stages. We go at your dog’s pace — not a fixed timetable.
-
Discovery Call
A 15-minute phone conversation. We talk about your dog, your concerns, and whether what we do is the right fit. No commitment, no sales pressure.
-
Pre-Enrolment
You complete a short form about your dog’s history, diet, and behaviour. Don reviews it before you ever meet, so the first visit is calm and well-prepared.
-
First Stay & Assessment
A short trial stay — typically one or two nights — so Don can meet your dog properly, watch how they settle, and assess prey drive and temperament.
-
Recall Training Programme
A bespoke e-collar recall programme built around your dog. Most sighthounds finish the programme walking off lead in open, real-world environments.

Book a Stay →Myths and truths about modern e-collars
The old shock collars of the 1990s are gone. Modern low-level e-collars are gentle, precise, and — for a sighthound that can hit 45mph — far safer than a long line.
“E-collars shock and hurt the dog.”
“A long line is always safer than an e-collar.”
“You only need an e-collar if your dog is badly behaved.”
“Sighthounds can never be walked off lead.”
A modern low-level e-collar uses the same kind of muscle-stimulation pulse a physio uses on humans. Most owners use a setting they can barely feel on the back of their hand.
A 30-metre line on a 45mph sighthound is a recipe for snapped tendons, broken legs, and rope-burned hands. The e-collar removes that risk entirely.
E-collars are a recall tool, not a punishment tool. Used properly, they give a high-drive dog the freedom to be a dog.
Don has trained dozens of greyhounds, lurchers and salukis to recall reliably off lead. There are clients running their ex-racers free on Wimbledon Common.
You’ll never use a tool you don’t understand. Before Don ever fits an e-collar on your dog, he’ll show you exactly how it works — on your own arm, at the levels he uses. If you’re not comfortable, we don’t proceed. Simple as that.
What sighthound owners say
Almost 60 five-star reviews on Trustpilot — and counting.
I came across Don on Instagram and reached out with a few questions — he was incredibly helpful and generous with his time from the start. I then booked him to look after my greyhound, Bart, while I was away. We did a meet and greet with his pack beforehand, and Bart settled in straight away. Over the past week, Bart has been living with Don and his dogs, learning recall — and it’s genuinely been life-changing. I can now walk him safely off lead on Wimbledon Common, confident he’ll come back to me and that he’s safe around other dogs too.
More verified reviews to be added from Don’s Trustpilot profile before launch.

Common questions
If your question isn’t answered below, ask it on your discovery call — Don likes the awkward ones.
Is e-collar training cruel?
No. E-collar training is one of the most humane methods available for high prey drive sighthounds. A long line on a dog that can reach 45mph causes serious physical injury. A correctly used e-collar provides a gentle, consistent signal that keeps your dog safe without physical harm.
Can my greyhound or lurcher ever be walked off lead?
Yes. With specialist e-collar recall training tailored specifically to sighthounds, most dogs complete the programme able to run freely off lead. We have dozens of client success stories including greyhounds running free on Wimbledon Common.
What sighthound breeds do you work with?
We work exclusively with sighthounds including greyhounds, whippets, lurchers, Bedlington whippets, Italian greyhounds, salukis, and all sighthound crosses.
Where are you based and do you collect dogs?
We are based in Wembley, London. Collection and drop-off is included in the price, covering Hampstead, East Finchley and surrounding North and North-West London areas.
